Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Wilkerson.
Kelly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a stay-at-home mother of 3 children who is quickly growing up, I began to think of what direction I wanted to go in terms of jobs or a career.
I’ve always been fascinated with real estate, the process of home buying/selling, and simply just looking at beautiful homes in lovely locations.
My husband and I had been through the process of home buying and selling twice by this time and I simply fell in love with it.
So much so that our agent, Alice Hurst, who had helped us buy our new home and sell our previous told me that she thought I would be a perfect fit as a real estate agent. In the winter of 2020, I began my journey into the real estate world by enrolling in online classes.
I quickly finished classes and took the Georgia State exam in March of 2021 when I officially passed to obtain my real estate license and became a Realtor. I sought to work under a new and upcoming brokerage based out of Rincon, Next Move Real Estate, and Property Management under Carmen Cribbs and Sonny Wright. There, with their guidance and advice, I would like to say that I flourished as an agent.
I won Rookie of the Year and sold over $2 million dollars in real estate sales in my first year which also earned me the Bronze Award at our brokerage. I have been very fortunate to have so many wonderful families, friends, and fellow agents in my corner who push and encourage me daily.
I hope I can continue to help those in their home buying or selling journey for many years to come as it has been an absolute pleasure seeing these families reach their goals of homeownership.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some struggles that have occurred along the way are struggles even seasoned agents may have which is getting your client to the closing table.
There are many factors that can hinder this from appraisals coming up short to buyers making large purchases on credit causing financing to fall through. These are all things that come up on occasion that we as real estate agents have to battle through for our clients.
There were a couple of times that I have been in tears trying to exhaust all possible avenues and finally uncover the way to make my client’s dreams a reality. I never give up on my clients!

What I do and what I specialize in is helping find my clients the home they’ve been searching for, coming up with the best plan of attack for our offer to get under contract, guiding them through the ins and outs of the process, and sticking by their side the entire time to get them to that closing table.
I absolutely take pride in going above and beyond client expectations. I like to explain every step and what can be expected so there will be no surprises and even if there are surprises, we’ve already discussed what we will do to quell the unexpected.
My clients can expect me to be hand in hand with them throughout the process and even after to guarantee their satisfaction. From clients to friends to the family is what I strive for!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that people might not know about me is that I’ve competed as a powerlifter in the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA).
I attempted the Georgia State records for Squat and Deadlift in the 52kg weight class in February 2021 but unfortunately came up a little short.
I’ve not had the time recently to compete but it is very much something I enjoy doing and hope to get back to in the near future.
